Every year Labor Day weekend gives us a much needed break from work to enjoy the last few days of summer. However, one very important breed of hard workers never take a day off: service dogs. Service dogs are born and bred to aid those in need. From young children suffering from crippling disorders to adults injured in horrifying accidents, service dogs not only help mobilize those in need they also give these people a voice.
Last year PBS ran a wonderful documentary called “Through a Dog’s Eyes” about the life of a service dog. Not only is this a magnificent look into the way these dogs are trained and chosen, it is also a heartwarming story of survival and acceptance. While you get an extra day off this weekend, I promise that you won’t regret setting aside an hour to sit down and watch this beautiful story from PBS
