Cooper knows his mom's secret. She thinks he is human! Do you treat your pets like they are really a part of your biological family?
Hi everybody! It’s me Cooper. I have a secret to share with you. I am pretty sure my mom thinks I am human. Boy, I hope she doesn’t read this month’s blog. She would not be happy with me for telling all of my friends I think that she thinks I AM HUMAN!! I go along with her, but I know that I am the superior species - I am a dog after all.
You are probably asking yourself two questions. First, why do I think this? And second, is it really so bad? The main reason I believe my mom thinks I’m human is because she talks to me all the time. Now, she has never tried to hide the fact that she talks to me and I actually really like this. She tells me everything. I mean, I could do without her singing, but everything else is great.
As I am getting a little older though she constantly reminds me to have good manners and be respectful of humans when they are talking or working. She also expects me not to stand in our backyard and bark at neighbors that live 4 houses away for long periods of time. These are really hard rules to live by.I like to talk, and I have a lot to say. I personally don’t think that the humans that live 4 houses away need to be in their yard anyway.
Of course, it could be because I am so darn cute that only my mom seems to worry about my manners. My mom told me that it is possible for cuteness to wear off so minding my manners is really important. To answer your second question wondering if it is upsetting that my mom thinks I am human, my answer is NO!! I mean I could do without the daily reminders to use my inside voice and mind my manners and that I need personal boundaries, but since my mom thinks I’m human then I know I am her family. Since I am her family, I know she will always make time to show me how much she loves me.
My mom has been studying a lot lately and she makes sure that I get my playtime and never feel ignored. As a matter of fact, a few nights ago mom was studying and she thought I was bored so she found a movie for me to watch. I got to watch Wonder Dog. It was great.
What do you think? Do you think your pets are humans or at least treat them like they are?
